Pet Casting Process

Paw moulds are created by immersing your pets paw into a solution of Alginate. Alginate is made from seaweed and is the same material dentists use to make casts of your teeth. It is 100% natural and safe for your pet should they ingest any.

Your pets paw will be covered in Vaseline so that your pets fur doesn't stick to the mould and once inserted it will set in approximately 2 minutes so they won't need to sit still for too long.

He or She does need to be comfortable with having their paw placed in liquid. It is a good idea to practice before attending your paw casting session to make sure your pet is comfortable with the procedure.

Once the mould is created it is then filled with Plaster of Paris and left to set before the mould is removed.

The cast needs to be left to dry for 2 weeks before it can be painted. Your lovely keepsake should be ready between 4-6 weeks after the mould has been taken.
