Casting Process
Firstly, moulds are taken of hands and feet using specialised baby skin safe alginate. Being mainly derived from seaweed it is completely safe to use on babies delicate skin (it is also latex free), however if your baby does have any skin problems please consult with your GP first.
The process to take the mould will take approximately 2-3 minutes. Ideally baby needs to be still (either sleeping or feeding) during this time but we all know babies can be unpredictable so please do not worry. If I think baby has moved to much during the casting I will take it again straight after. Ensure you bring any milk/comforter/toys with you so your little one is as comfortable as can be.

After your appointment the moulds are cast using high quality stone plaster. Once they have set I will then give them a tidy and need to be left to dry for approximately 2 weeks. I can then paint them and get them framed. There is a wide variety of different colours and styles which we can discuss during your appointment.

Your beautiful Keepsake Casting should be ready for you to collect within 4-6 weeks.

All casting is completed in the comfort of my home in Comber but I can also travel within a 10 mile radius so please get in touch if you have any queries in regards to this.
